About Eric Gooden

Eric Gooden was born in Centerville, Iowa in the great year of 1987. Through the years he picked up an addiction; watching and analyzing movies. Not only did he enjoy watching movies, but he was also fascinated with how they were produced. Throughout high school, Eric and some of his friends made various short films and productions to the point where a decision had to be made. Decide on a career that would guarantee you a good paycheck, or follow your passion and dreams. After graduating from Centerville High School in 2005, Eric went on to earn his Associate of Arts Degree at Indian Hills Community College. He then packed up and moved to the University of Iowa to begin his professional film career. Eric graduated from the University of Iowa in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinematography & Video Production.
Since finishing college, Eric has worked on two feature films, commercials, short films, live sporting events, weddings, and live music events. In March of 2010, he began working for the Iowa Cubs Baseball Team on the Video Crew. Throughout the season many of his production skills were enhanced and he made connections with some great people in the industry, making it one of the most enjoyable experiences of his life. Another great opportunity came in May when Eric was hired as the Manager of Video Production and Associate Producer for Webcast One Live Studios in downtown Des Moines. Being part of a ground-breaking new webcast television platform has been a great way to express the ideas and creativity that some never get to show due to restriction.
Eric currently resides in Des Moines where he works as a Multimedia Journalist at WHO-HD Channel 13 News. He has the calling to direct his own feature-length film using the advanced knowledge he has now, compared to what he knew in years prior. There are lots of plans and ideas for the future, but the only question is…when will it begin?
